Khosro Khosravi

Khosro Khosravi was born in Tehran in 1964 and began his artistic career in his teenage years by attending academic drawing classes under Parviz Habibpour. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Tehran in 1991 and earned a Master’s degree in Art Research from the University of Tehran in 1999. His first professional exhibition took place in the 1990s at the Iran Art Gallery (currently the Institute for the Development of Visual Arts) on North Kargar Street.

Throughout his career, Khosravi has explored various artistic phases, with a dominant focus on social themes and his lived experiences in interaction with his environment. In the 2000s, he transitioned to video art, which also reflected his social perspective and attention to the interaction between humans and contemporary life.

Khosravi was a member of the +30 group, which formed in the late 1990s to mid-2000s with artists of diverse approaches, aiming to advance contemporary art using new media. Throughout these years, he has been teaching painting at universities and was a faculty member at Soore University. He has held 15 solo exhibitions and participated in over 30 group exhibitions, both domestically and internationally, in countries such as Qatar, Japan, India, France, Italy, the UK, and the United States. His works have been featured in three editions of the Tehran Auction. His most recent exhibition was held at Niyavaran Gallery in Tehran in the winter of 2023.

Khosravi is now retired from teaching and continues to paint in his personal studio in Tehran.
