Mehdi Ahmadi‘s journey in the world of art and cinema is both fascinating and impressive. Born on December 7th, 1966, in Tehran, his passion for painting began to take shape during his adolescence. This early inclination towards art prompted him to pursue formal training in painting starting in 1984, at the age of 18.
Despite initially enrolling in the Architecture program at the Iran University of Science and Technology in 1985, Ahmadi eventually decided to follow his true passion and transferred to the Art University of Tehran to study graphic design. Alongside his university education, he supplemented his learning by attending drawing and painting classes taught by Ahmad Vakili. Additionally, he delved into the realms of art history and practical experience of art movements under the guidance of Ruyin Pakbaz.
In 1993, Ahmadi held his inaugural drawing and painting exhibition, marking the beginning of his prolific artistic career. Since then, he has showcased his works in over 50 domestic and international exhibitions, earning recognition for his talent and creativity.
In parallel with his pursuits in painting, Ahmadi ventured into the world of cinema in 1989 with his debut role in “In the Alleys of Love,” directed by Khosrow Sinaee. This film garnered significant acclaim and was even featured at the Cannes Festival, catapulting Ahmadi into the spotlight. Since then, he has appeared in numerous cinema movies, accumulating a diverse and impressive acting portfolio consisting of 30 films to date.
Through his dedication to both painting and acting, Mehdi Ahmadi has left an indelible mark on the Iranian art and cinema scene, captivating audiences with his talent and passion.
